Had no issues with the SSQV on my 06 WRX, have you plugged the 30mm pipe that is not needed anymore?

to be honest mate, just put the OE one back in. it will do the job its suppose to do. you will not gain anything from the ssqv!

spend you money on something more wiser, like maybe a panel filter or even a backbox

This is a problem commonly known in the Evo community. Basically MAF sensors do not like VTA dump valves. At low revs the dump valve vents the used gasses to atmosphere and then the MAF sensor gets a false reading which then causes dropping revs and stalling at low revs.

The way around this is a dual vent dump valve. What these do is to put the used gasses back into the system at low revs so the MAF sensor gets a correct reading but at high revs it dumps the gasses to atmosphere when the car isn't going to stall.

There are a few available on the market, the Turbosmart Dual vent, the Forge Split R and the APS.

I have an APS available if you are interested as this will solve the stalling issues at low revs but also gives you the dump valve sound at high revs giving the best of both worlds.
