Hello All - Just brought in to the scooby club
Was not sure where to put my first post, still looking though site.
Anyway, just thought I say hello quickly
Picked up a Scooby 1998 Facelift 2 Ltr Turbo AWD (Green) a couple of days ago - Full UK SPEC (No Mods)
Gonna keep it standard - accept add a turbo timer for my benefit
Very clean car accept for a couple 50p dings in Pass Front Door which i am looking into having removed.
Ummmm not sure what else to say but HI, look forward to talking to other members

Welcome.
Do yourself a favour and save the money on a turbo timer, complete waste of time. Just drive slowly on the last couple of miles and you will be fine - honestly
Wonder how long the "no mods" will last

Have not said a welcome to a new member for ages, so I shall start by saying Hi
Turbo timers are a bit marmite on this forum, some say they are pointless, some like them. I have one myself but tbh you can best save your money elswhere like under the bonnet or maybe some subtle styling changes, wheels etc. The list is endless only restricted by your wallet

I m not gonna bother with turbo timer !!! just wanna look after turbo, have been parking after driving (Slow or Fast Trip) and sitting in car for a couple of minutes with it just ticking over..
Reference NO Mods, I was not into changing anything to be honest, going to have alloys refurbed and fix dents and give a tidy up but due to the fact everyone else mod's that gives me a very cheap stock list of standard parts nobody ever wants ha ha ha so i m happy...

Hi & welcome. as others have said, you don't need a turbo timer, I have the same car as you but running over 400bhp with no turbo timer fitted.
Once you get used to the power, you will likely crave a few more horses, if you can resist modding, my advice would to sell it & buy an STI or a car that has already been tuned by a reputable garage & had a rebuild. It is a very slippery slope from where you are
Enjoy the car fella!

Hi and welcome to s/net.
To echo what others have said about the turbo timer, just drive off boost until the oil warms up and for a few mins before you park up.
If you have some money burning a hole in your pocket start with a nice set of gauges including oil temp or look at light handling mods - rear drop links, anti roll bar.
Enjoy the scoob and post some pics up

Indeed, after 10+ years, the plastic drop links on my '99 were shot.
Makes little sense to replace with inferior OEM bits.
Doesn't the '98 come with 15" alloys ? Must be plenty of 16" or 17" around from later years, if the cost of refurbishment is close to the cost of a second hand set...
