speeding appeal?
last night i got caught speeding on the motor way. at 77mph on a 60mph road. (at 11;30pm) i argued with the police that it was late and the motorway was quiet, however they still gave me the ticket
. do yous think i should appeal the decision or take the points and pay the fine?

That was where you went wrong. If you'd just SFTU then the feds would probably have given you a patronising lecture (during which you nod and look serious) and let you on your way.
No, it's not worth appealing because you have no grounds to.

For future reference, never admit to it. Never argue. Never present your license, even if it is in your possession. They are trained to follow a script which is designed to coerce you into admission with leading questions. 'Do you know why we stopped you sir ?', 'How fast were you going sir ?', never answer in a way which becomes an admission. Just say 'Don't know !' If you don't have your license then they have failed to identify you properly, which may help if it were to go to court later. Also, without the license they have more work to do later, which may make them consider a bo11ocking instead of a penalty.

This made me grin, thanks for making my evening
You've admitted you were speeding beyond the national limit, let alone the 60 you were in! Take the points and don't act like you didn't deserve them. It happens to us all once or twice.

They either have evidence or they don't. If they have evidence, they will lecture or prosecute as they see fit. If they don't, then an admission from you won't make the slightest difference, and probably isn't admissible without a Caution anyway. If there has EVER been a case of someone being convicted of speeding on the sole grounds of an un-cautioned (or otherwise) admission I've never heard of it.
But the advice to stay silent and nod sagely is still valid.
