Default polar performance chips

new to scoobies this years just wondering how these work and wat kind of power increase would i be looking at , i've got a 93 import wrx

they fit into the spare slot in the ecu , and i increase boost to 1.1 bar , i currently have one fitted to my 95wrx and its realy improved my car , was well worth the money.

did you get yours from PRODUCTS if so how much did it cost you, do you fit it your self and do you need a remap,

I got mine second hand of someone on here , the guy that maps/sells the chips is on here he's called scott.T, .
you don't need a remap, as the chip is the new map

This is one of those mods that some hate(from a safety point of view), and others love.
I had one fitted before i wanted more, and for the money it was wicked! It also de-limited the car(import at 112mph), and makes it safe to run on uk fuel, very important!
It's a doddle to fit, remove the ecu, take the cover off, plug the chip into the spare slot(some need a chip holder soldered to the board first), cut a resistor, refit and you're away!
You have to trust the chip, it can't be mapped. If you buy direct from Polar Performance, Scott T, you can tell him your mods, and he can give you a chip to suit.
The alternative is a £500+ ecu fitted/mapped, so quite a jump!

hi i was thinking of having the car remapped, is it worth doing the map then fitting the chip, am i wrong in thinking that some scoobies cant be remapped heard that somewhere

You can't map your year car, hence the chip. You need either a new ecu, or the ESL Live to be able to be mapped.

Scott has one on ebay at the mo, finishes in a few hours. £95 start price - no bids yet.
