WRX-STI S202.. the hunt continues..
So I was looking at an older 1998 scooby but then fell in love with this :
?????????????????????fujicarsjapan?
Works out at around £9.5k
Do you think this is a decent buy?
The other cars I looked at (Skyline R32 GTR and the 98 STI) were each a little more than UK prices..
I am hoping that this being rarer may be a good find and actually make me some money when I get back in 2 years!?
What do you think guys?
Decent car?
Thanks in advance for the excellent advice I know you have in you

Do you avoid all the model report malarky if you bring it home with you ?
As there's one in Bradford that they can't sell as a road car....

Oh.. that sounds like a bit of a bummer.. as far as I am aware cars over 10 years old only need an MOT.. so when I return in January 2012 I should get away with it... but I guess before that time it would be a no go for some reason.. no model report?? no idea!
How much do they go for roughly?

S202's are very sought after cars. If it wasn't for the No Model Report issue (in the UK) they'd be up at £15k IMHO. I'd snap it up if you'll be in japan for a few years. As Dunx says, it may not even be an issue if you own the car in Japan & wish to bring back with you?

Right... off to the bank manager then and to convince the girlfriend to ask her parents to act as guarantors on the loan ;-)
Fingers crossed.. did you check the link? White colour OK? I thought it looked stunning in the pics.. will try and see it on Tuesday if I can get down to Niigata. It's about 4 hours from where I live here :-(

Sorry for the caps.. my excitement is getting the better of me!
How much are these to insure in the UK roughly.. 27years old, 3years NCB.. no accidents.. roughly the same as the normal STI?

I thought that looked like a bodykit, looking at the finish and the way the rear spoiler is done i wonder if its had a respray?
Don't quite get the roof scoop either, it would still be very rare over here, depending on its mechanical condition if i were to buy it i'd get the rear spoiler back to original finish and an original front bumper (its just an STi front bumper it needs isn't it) and sides skirts
Depends how much they want

Cheers guys,
I'm thinking it may just be out of my reach financially.. what with the insurance on top but worth still dreaming.. looks like a plain old 98 STI is on the cards.. still a nice car though eh!?
