Default RA vs WRX box and 1/4 mile times?

Hi, just a quick question, has anyone done a good comparison between a RA close ratio box, and a WRX box as regards to 1/4 mile times, running equal power, say 320-330 bhp?
At what power does the RA's box become a hindrance with the extra gear changes?

Thanks,Mit

Took my STI RA to Rotorstock lastyear and went up against a mate's WRX. He was running about 315bhp to my then 285bhp. There was nothing in it up until i changed into 5th, he got his nose in front.

I finshed with a 13.3 and him a 13.1, think terminal speed was about 106mph. I tried a 4th gear run after that but it wasnt a good move, the RA needs to use all 5 gears to cross the line!

The longer gearing would be better.

My RA is now my drag toy and the only time it really gets used is on the strip, i found changing to 5th a pain and have now gone to PPG for the longer gears..... 4th goes all the way to 127mph
