yeh but i think the one in the video probs had alot of work done to the engine, my mates car has just got a 5" tailpipe with no engine mods.
just remembered he said his boost is turned down to 8psi but if he turned it up to 11 look out whoop whoop!! lol

Correct me if I am wrong but weren't they around 200bhp so very close to a STD uk turbo at 218bhp. Not to sure on the weight difference but on a straight I would of thought it would be close and I doubt you would tear him a new one

You may well be surprised if it's a standard uk turbo, I used to have a 220gti turbo which to be fair was modded a bit but would leave an impreza once rolling quite easy, easily kept up with a 300bhp newage car.
And no I wasn't dreaming, had quite a few motors now and that one always used to make me grin
that will also be a later bubble shape car which was supposed to be better handling.

As standard you will find them equal, the only advantage mine had was traction off junctions & roundabouts, then only in anything other than bone dry conditions.

I agree that off the line the Impreza will be quicker but once rolling most 200 bhp 2 wheel drive cars will accelerate quicker. [both being standard or equally modded]

there is no way a std impreza uk spec will even get anywhere close to a E46 M3
I had a 3.0l E36 M3 and used to stuff scoobies all the time its the evos that were hard to beat and a e46 M3 makes mincemeat out of the E36 m3 Bmw M series engines are all top end performance Imo
A stripped mK 1 CLIO williams with throttle boddies would embarress quite a few high powered cars though!

my mate had a std rover 220 turbo and it was very quick i personally think it would beat a std uk impreza without a problem well i know it could as i used to drive it regular and have done it.

Have to agree...........my Tomcat was certainly quicker than the standard UK turbo I bought to replace it. It was a bit frightening taking corners at speed and in the wet forget getting off the line.

I had two of the larger 820 Vitesse models with the 2.0 turbo engines, one was 180bhp and the other was the Vitesse sport with 200bhp.
Big ugly ******* but comfy inside with half leather recaros and leccy everything (when it worked) and cost pennies.
They embarrased a fair few quick motors in their time before, ahem, the head gaskets went on them both
Both did over 140mph but couldnt corner to save their lives

Ain't that the truth! Rover should have ditched the T16 and T16 turbo for the Honda f20 and H22 units. There would be alot more of these cars around today if that was the case.

I had a 220 turbo Tomcat, really didnt feel that fast when I had it, and corners were dangerous but was quite nice in the sun with the glass panels out.
Moved on to a Classic turbo aftwards and wouldnt even compare the 2!!Gets going faster, handles better and doesnt destroy gaskets!

Have to agree with some of the comments, A rover tomcat turbo would leave a uk classic once rolling they are underestimated. People slag them because of their head gasget problems and diff bearing problems but sling a metal klinger gasget on and replace the diff csing and they're pretty reliable.
I loved mine and for the money was an awesome car, cheap to look after , cheap to run, the parts were easy to pick up and an absolute sinch to work on!
