I would like to say I've owned loads of RSs before and here's what I've got to say about them.
1) H reg RS Turbo Escort broke down, fuel pump knackered.
2) K reg RS 2000 broke down, timing chain broke.
3) G reg RS Cosworth Sapphire battery drain because of poor alarm installation by RS dealer.
4) S reg Subaru Impreza Turbo, not a problem with it.
5) R reg Subaru Impreza Turbo Terzo, not a problem with it. So Far !

Now I know what you're going to say, "The RSs were older!" Not true as they were about 1 or 2 years old when I owned them. Don't get me wrong, I still love RSs but I would bet on a Subaru for reliability than a Ford!
Oh yeah and another thing, how many "Rusty" Subarus have you seen?(As I put my Flame Suit on!)

Subaru`s don`t go rusty you should know that!
Before their first MOT they are made into coke cans
Gussie...I did drive a TVR cebera (4.5) but I sold it last Sunday.
Currently using my faithful old BM at the moment until my new baby is born!

By the way boys....
When I was driving my Cerby and pulled up at a set of traffic lights, if a scooby pulled up alongside I knew instantly that it was no "threat" to me.
It would be totally slaughtered whatever the spec, the driver may have just had time to see some nice shiny stainless steel tailpipes disappearing into the horizon.
Can`t say the same about a Cossie though as it might be one like Mr Rainbird`s.

You need to get out more!

Facts of life; cars do break down, run out of petrol, stop by the side of the road for no apparent reason and thanks for pointing out that even Imprezas do to. Not exactly a 'hold the front page experience' but thanks anyway.

Gotta feeling i know where this thread is heading.

Biffo,
I wait with baited breath!
I just tried the RSOC board, seems to be workin' on and off, just very slow - bit like the cars and their owners really

Buffo
I make it three times but who's counting, apparently not you!

I hope that this is gonna be the start of a long and warm friendship

What RS do ya drive (when it's running). I had a Mk2 Escort RS 2000 Custom many moons ago. I was one of the best/fun cars i owned.

Oh dear Buffo - You post a thread 'bout Scoobs being unreliable and you own a TVR.
Did you develop a taste for fibreglass.
patching holes in ya first car and could not bear to be without it? Did it come with a box of insullation tape and a pair of plierts so's you could fix your own electrics??

Now, IMHO, TVR make some great lookin' and sounding cars, handling and relaibilty not exactly their strong points though.

Dead The Ed...It seems that you are laughing so much that you can`t read
I WILL SPELL IT OUT TO YOU SLOWLY!
I USED TO HAVE A TVR BUT SOLD IT LAST SUNDAY!
By the way I can`t speak for others but the only time my TVR went to the garage it was for servicing or Petrol

Oi Bumfo!
So Just to recap - You drove (owned) a TVR,
Cerby (is that like a Furbie?) .
You come onto a Scooby board to extoll the virtues of Cosworth reliability over and above Scooby's and how much faster your TVR is (was) - might well be in a straight line in the dry, To what end apart from sucking up to Martin Rainbird? (No offence Martin)
Nothing to back it up, nothing useful to say or add, seems to me that you are aiming to get a rise.

Well done!

God, i hope the ROSC board is up soon!

Looks like Biffo could be the new Impreziast

Webmaster/Mr Moderator Please move to the muppet forum where it truly belongs

This thread must be getting the sinking feeling....

It all comes down to image -

RS - base ball cap and shell suit
Scooby - sharp suit and brief case
