I think that the only way to catch the scum that rob cars is to have trackers fitted and just hand over the keys if you are threatened.

If enough cars have them fitted they will become less desirable to the scum that take them. I had one fitted when Tesco quoted me £300 less than my current insurer if I put one on.

My 2 cents.

IIRC it was the basic Tracker Retrieve option at £268 including fitting. Then the yearly subscription is £99 per year.

i am getting an rac trackstar fitted asap, i live within 5 mins walk of the whetstone theft & my garage is up a dark alley round the back of my place, my scooby has cos me lots of hard earned, i am 6ft 2 & weigh 16 stones, i am not small, i have a bat in my car, but can assure you if it came to it i would hand over the keys in an instant! last night i took my girlfriends car instead of the scoob cos i was genuinly worried about being followed etc.not so much for my sake but if they break in when the missus is at home or if we return home together etc. the rac is 80upfront then 23per month, if they want to steal, car jack or take the keys yhey are welcome to them.
