WHAT HAVE I BOUGHT?
#1
Recently went into my local dealer (remains nameless at moment) re sti type Uk showed me car ranted on about this and that then showed me picture of a car with leather sat nav and 484nm torque according to them £29495 on the road. Only 50 being made all in black. I said are you sure they said yes I said are you really sure they said really you get the picture. Order now confirmed june/july delivery. What the hell have I bought can't find it specced anywhere. I posted this threaded wrongly before. AT work typing quickly with a couple of typo errors (sorry) The car is a saloon sti 7 no figures on BHP but they assure me 484nm is correct I really don't think so. Have i been sold a pup or a spec ed they are doing. Do they know something about the PPP that others don't?

Looking at the invoice they said Type ra. Only thing that really concerns me is the figure of 484nm. Standard Sti type Uk is about 340nm. I think I'll dig even further. Fantastic looking car though.

On the STI website they say the standard Sti is 373 nm - the most powerful version I can find is the Sti Type RA C-spec which comes with 384 nm. Seems a little bit coincidental that it was 484 nm they mentioned on a type Ra. Could it actually be 384 ? As per another thread on the Evo 450 - Ralliart couldnt get 450nm out of the Evo so I dont think there is a chance with an Impreza.
My Japanese aint great so, above is just what I am managing to understand.

Cheers Guys,
Dug a little bit further, seems it is 384nm not 484 I wish they'd get things right. Salesman doesn't know everything about it only that it is ordered through IFM (same importer of Typeuk?) it is uk spec trackstar 3 year warranty undersealed etc but has Leather, Sat Nav system VDO Daytom m6000. He thinks bhp somewhere @ 300. Insurance not checked as yet. I'm sure someone will insure it. Thanks for the tips. I have a copy of the picture they showed me scanned into jpg format, how do I show it on the forum as other people have.????
Cheers

Trigger,
the evo rs450 had 450 bhp and 380 lbft of torque.
we are talking here about Nm of torque not lbft, not bhp and not kW, the conversion is something like 1.5Nm = 1lbft , either way, dont even compare them, the evo in the power and torque categories would destroy any standard impreza I know of short of a group A or wrc car.

I'm wildly speculating here, but that looks like it could have been taken somewhere warm - Cyprus, for example.
I would be asking my dealer all sorts of difficult, awkward questions now and getting onto Subaru UK to find out what the thing really is.
Does this car come with European type approval, or is it being brought in on SVA would be the start.
Looks very interesting, but I'd do some research before parting with any cash.

Spoken to the dealer and am going to see them this friday. Whats the difference between European type approval and SVA does bringing it on SVA mean only 50. Will keep you all posted as the detective work continues. Kinda makes it more exciting seeing as how I ONLY have 3-4 months to wait.
Yeah the picture thru me too, definately not England that,s for sure. Maybe Japan??

Adam M - I know what Nm and Ibft are - read the thread about the evo 450 in 'other marques' - apparently ralliart advised that the 450 was called that as that was the target torque figure (not bhp)in nm, not Ibft. According to the Lancer register and Ralliart this was not actually achieved. And they claim Autocar's test was wrong. Exactly as I was saying, the Evo can take much more power/torque than the Impreza anyway.

Yep, definitely seen that picture in the member's gallery a while ago.
I seem to remember it was owned by someone in Greece or Cyprus.
I'll see if I can dig up the other thread.
