Default Clutch update

Dear All,

i got my first scobby a few weeks ago and it became horrid at setting off when hot. The whole car shook as you let the clutch out.
The car is a 2.5 STI 2006 EU import.
The warrenty runs out in a week but it is in at a dealer on Monday who are going to take out the gearbox etc under warrenty, thinking clutch although the service guy thinks it might be the dual mass fly wheel.

Bad to worse! Subaru say the clutch isn't standard so they won't cover warranty. The bill is £800 to replace clutch and flywheel. I told them that I only had the car two weeks from a car dealer and that second cars have a three month warranty. The dealer has told subaru to do the work but they will only pay half!

have that annoying vibration to, its the flywheel that is warped.... mine is like that a while now really should replace it, your clutch might not be bad but you might as well replace while your in there... if subaru will only pay half, would it not be up to your dealer to pay the rest since its still under warranty?

I'd want them to prove to me that its the not the original clutch or a non-OE item.

I mean the chances of that on a 3 year old standard car still in warranty strikes to me as odd.

Unless the car is modified, in which case forget it.

It's the dealer, not subaru who is paying half, the dealer I bought it off. Subaru say it's an updated, none standard clutch.
