MPG, remap and air conditioning.
Used to get about 25mpg on long motorway runs in my standard 2002 WRX Wagon, at 'normal' motorway speeds (3-3.5k on the rev counter, work it out ). Since having a sports cat, panel filter and remap by the excellent Jolly Green Monster, I'm now seeing 27.5 on the low boost map, and turning the air con off lets it creep slightly over the magic 30mpg! All of this is on a fairly well laden car (missus, 2 young kids and a boot full of luggage).
So, proof that a remap can help mpg, and that air con eats petrol!

I picked up my Scoob on Saturday there and have averaged about 20-22 MPG but as you can all imagine, I have not been taking it easy haha!
What surprises me is that from the 1/4 tank mark it only costs around £36 to brim it.

Remap improved my consumption as well.
Makes you wonder what manufacturers are doing with stock mapping focussing on some areas of emissions (due to misguided legislation) to the detriment of overall fuel consumption and unnecessirily increasing CO2 emissions as a result.
