No, I don't mean the silly bodykit or lexus lights, I mean the sprayjob.

According to the ad, he has permission, but from the corner of your eye when driving, it could look bloody convincing?

Technically I suppose it is legal as its not police livery, just similar to some forces own livery

Anyhoo, why isn't the livery of police cars no longer standarised across teh country? When travelling in unfamiliar countys its hard to tell them apart from highways agency and recovery vans.

Red/yellow on the back is ok. Blue squares on the jam sandwich is iffy though (although if those rooflights flash red/blue, it isn't Yellow is ok ).

And any bored copper would pull it over on sight just out of principal. Especially with "ANPR INTERCEPTOR" plastered all over it

It is horrible, but as far as I know there's nothing to stop you stickering up your car to look like a police car, even down to having 'police' written down the side if you want. The only thing you can't have is the lights, or at least you can have the lights fitted, you just can't use them.
