Time to buy a new Scooby. Can't quite stretch to am STI, new roof required, kind of a bummer.

So off I trot to one of my local garages. The salesman claims it is a standard car, even though I ask him about the WR Sport exhaust, nope definately standard (I think I'll get that in wring).

He also says no discounts at all available and that the 5.9% on WRX's doesn't apply to the one I want.

So my question is if you bought a new WRX recently did you get a discount, what apr did you get and where did you buy from.

All help and advice greatly received.

Oh and I'll be putting £3k down 12k per year contract over 3 years.

Many thanks.

Dave

I thought UK Scooby dealers were offering cheap contract hire at the moment. Can't quite recall the figures, but well under £300pcm for 10k miles pa.

Alternatively, why not try a European import to UK spec? Plenty of recommendations if you need, Mate - and you can arrange finance/pcp/contract hire on them.

Lancasters ran an ad for contract hire of WRXs & I'm sure it was £290. Or buy an import & save a big lump sum

Best of luck

Here in Switzerland they just went down in price....

Originaly they were 44'500 swiss francs 18'600 Pounds

Now they've dropped to 38'900 francs 16'200 Pounds

I believe it's because of the STI starting at 49'200 francs (20'500 pounds)

Don't forget the WRX is a very special car don't underestimate it!
Enjoy!

Dave, I sorted out a WRX 5 door incl metallic for £16,500 from Belgium - taking delivery in the next week or so. Probably get it even cheaper now, as when I reserved my Euros, I only got a 'middling' rate.... If you're interested, try:-

Dave,

I bought a WRX last November and it was £3k deposit, £290 pm for 3 years at 10k miles a year (5.9% APR) and balloon payment of £9k.

There must have been a surplus of cars at the time because it arrived in 2 weeks. There was a £1500 discount, I could have any colour and the only proviso was that bucket seats weren't available.

This was from our local Subaru dealer, Simpsons near Swindon, but whether or not the same deal still applies I couldn't say.

My local dealer (Holdcrofts, Newcastle under Lyme) ran a promotion for new WRX's on personal contract hire, £1500 deposit plus 24 x £250, VAT included, only applied to models with sports seats (not buckets), don't know if this offer is still on.

Apparently the deal is subsidised by IM as they are having difficulty selling models with sport seats.

Right, a friend of mine said tiley's were doing contract hire @ £250 per month on 'in stock' WRX. Also there was an ad in Autocar yellow pages for WRX's on 0% finance from a uk dealer... Can't remember which though,

If it was my money I'd go for a £16.5k import really, can't beat a £5k+ saving with low rate finance really.

Yes Im going for an EU Import as your saving nearly £5k over UK list price so plenty of change to mod it up. Have been looking around quite a bit really and Litchfields look pretty good - they offer the WRX for £16,995 + £185 for metallic paint and £335 for a Cat1 Alarm (all including VAT & delivery). The main thing is that they come with a 3 year subaru warranty as well. They also offer a lot of the Subaru accessories which most other importers Ive looked at dont (JamJar and Virgin). They also seem to know a bit about Subaru specifically and have a good rep on this BBS.

Anyone actually know where they are located as I cant see the address on the website or any emails theyve sent me? I see that Litchfield is the owner/directors name and not the location

Simon.

My advice is too buy the car from here http://www.subarutroch.com/ it will come with a 3 year warranty and you can borrow the money from here http://www.northernrock.co.uk/html/p...onal_loans.htm
£13,000 over 36 months is about £406 per month (taking into consideration the £3k you are putting down on a £16k car).
And at the end of the 36 months you will own the car.

Thumbs up

Dave

As one of the lucky guys who works in a uk Dealer, i can tell you that their are special deals on Sport seated Wrx's. and to be honest Discount/ Finance rates are always negotiable!!!

If you get no Joy From your local Dealer, please give either Gavin or Steve a ring here in Nottingham, and Im sure we can do something to help. The number is 0115-9882955.

Hope this helps!
