Default Caliper stickers

Hi guys,

Just painted the 4 pot calipers I bought of a guy but the subaru stickers I bought from ebay are wrong.

Does anyone have or know where I can get them? 4 pot calipers of a 97 sti.

Cheers

Ben

Are thses should be the raised letter 'SUBARU' 4 pot?

If so dead easy to paint the letters in by hand using a small model brush.

Or use a bit of wood coated in paint and press it on the raised letters.

Sorry for the thread hijack Ben, but cmaster, out of interest what paint have you used? Need to paint mine but not done any for about 12 years or more and can't remember what I used last time I did some. Want them bright red like yours.

Cheers,
Proby

I used a kit from here.

Foliatec - Car Styling Accessories - Caliper Paint - Window Film

Tbh i think it could be sourced cheaper using halfords bits. But it was my first time so spent the money.

Yeah it did a good job. You gotta make sure the caliper is WARM when its drying and also give ample time for the hardner to kick in, or it will be all un even.

I made both mistakes. Painted soon as i mixed it cos i was eager, and left if in my garage to dry over night (it was -2 iirc) so the next day it looked pants. So re did it.

Also i think i probably cleaned them better than most. Spent a good hour on each caliper with a drill and a few brush attachments. i got them gleaming plain metal. Also took a chunk out of skin which has left a scar it seems. About 2" by 1" on my shin lol.

The stickers really do finish it off. Especially if you put the effort i did.

This was the guy i used..

hi all i havent been on in a while and in that time i have sold my 03 blob wrx and brought a 97 jdm sti and all i can say is WOW!!!!
its completly different wish i had done it ages ago lol, any way been as though it was a nice day tday thought i would sort my calipers out as they were in bad shape
forgot to take 1 before shot but you will see what they looked like lol.
This is what you will need

so firstly i jacked up the car and removed the wheel,
then i began maskin up the arch making sure anyhing i didnt want red was covered lol

you can see in the last pic how bad the calipers looked.
once i was hapy everwhere was covered up i began sanding them off tryin toget most of the old paint off.

Once i was happy with the sanding i then wiped them clean with some paint prep wipes (get them from halfords etc)
and made sure they were dust free and dry ready for paint.

i added the paint in five or so thin coats

untill i was happy with all the parts being covered in equal(ish) amounts of paint lol

I then went and had a cuppa and bite to eat and let them dry for 45mins

Then came the tricky part in which i was lucky enough to have steady hands for lol
i sprayed the white paint into the lid and set to work on painting the "subaru" lettering lol no all you have to do is be paitient and take your time its not a race lol

so after 30 mins of deep breathing i had finished 1 caliper and was very pleased with how neat i actully was

i then went and had another cuppa and waited for them to dry but when i went out to them i thought they looked abit dull so poped out to get some heat resistant lacquar (cant spell) and gave them two coats 15 mins apart.
so back off 4 another cuppa and let them dry again.
when i went back to check them i removed the paper and masking tape to be left with these little beauties

I used a hard sponge from an old sanding sponge and rollable Hammerite.

Just dab it on in thin coats.

Is it really that hard to just remove two bolts that holds the caliper to the hub so you could paint it separately? The result looked good but it would be so much easier to get it 100% if you just remove it.
