Default what power are peaple running with a panel filter

hi i had my 95 v-limited rolling roaded and it had 258bhp with a apexi induction kit and an hks superdraggerexhaust (cat back) i thought it would have been higher than this , would the induction kit have lost it powerbecause of the hot air from the engine cheers j

hi mate, they say they loose you power unless there shielded by some means from the engine, but wouldn't of thought it would be a big loss, the figure you've got is about right for that age of car, a mate of mine had his rolling roaded the other day & was similar figures to yours, if you want to get to the 300 mark you'd need to get yourself a decat/sports downpipe & remap or polar chip hope this helps cheers mark

2006 STI with de cat and K&N panel filter mapped to 340 BHP
Cant see much advantage with induction kits, maybe if your going for massive power.

If the car is a WRX then the power is pretty much spot on for the year, you wont gain that much from the exhaust with the cat still on there and the CAIK will just be drawing in hot air from the engine reducing power.

tony i no people say that they suck in hot air but my 99 uk sucks air in the air box from behind the front light inside the engine bay so what is the difference
