Smile SUBARU IMPREZA STI TYPE R...WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hi just a general inquiry one of me mates was thinking of buying a sti type r as we all know theyre JDM as UK dont make them and never produced STI in the classic shapes until 1999 so he asked me to find out are these cars worth it or not?

Thanks everyone

the prodrive one is just a standard UK car with an ecu tweak and minor exhaust and filter mod.The Type R is in a different league,features/gimmicks of the STi Type R is I/C waterspray (manual and auto) electric folding mirrors,2 pot rear brakes

I think he means a P1
The P1 is based on an sti version 5 but differs quite considerably over an sti type r, the 22B type UK is virtually identical to its JDM counterpart, though has some differences for our market.
No classic sti was ever mass produced for the UK market, not even the P1 as it was not based upon any factory produced STI (its a hybrid rather than a purebread STI though it has STI running gear).

Great fun to drive. Just watch out for the inevitable bottom end rattle....

Do it mate, you will struggle to get a more capable car for the money. I am completely biased.
