Locked out of the boot!!
Ok as some of you know i picked up a 2003 JDM Bugeye yesterday but it only has one set of keys and the battery in the fob is flat so is having to be unlocked on the key.Anyway earlier this evening me and my brother were doing a few bits and pieces and found the key doesnt unlock the boot and it has to be popped on the inside release,so in his infinate knowledge he pushed the catch inside the boot to see if the key would then unlock the boot and now the popper won t release and i m locked out of the boot
My first idea was to go in through the seats as i can t see any other way but there is lining etc behind them.
Basically i m after any ideas to get into the boot to release the catch without causing to much damage

the lining should be able to be removed from the inside it's only on poppers i think, remove the base bit first then the back then you should be able to pull the lining off

I ve just looked through the owners book and it says it can t be opened from inside? And the key should do it-but it doesn t?
I ll try through the seats tomorrow any way!

When taking the back seat out! Remove the bottom bench fist via the 2 bolts at the front that you can see and then pull it up and it will fall out.
The back top half is a row of bolts (either 3 or 5) along the bottom near the seat belt points. Undo them and then you have the push the seat up as its hooked over. again it will just fall off once unhooked! 5 min job the whole lot mate!

All done now
Thanks for all the info,i did it alone thought it safer that way
Very simple exactly as cossie-nutter said a few bolts on the seats and i removed the one rear bar behind the seat for easier access and released the latch, job done!
Now just gotta get my key fob working as i ve changed the battery but it still won t work

Glad you got it sorted mate!
Taking a wild guess here but don't you have the key for the boot ?
You sure the electric popper hasn't gone faulty ?
Have you tried taking the battery off the car and when put back on it "might" reset the alarm to get the fobs working again ?
Sometimes you have to reset the fob in some kind or order!
What make is the alarm and fobs ?
It sounds like the popper to me or maybe the the cable from next to the drivers seat might of got jammed in the lock ?

The popper inside the car works fine, but the key doesn t turn in the boots lock? There is a lever on the boot side that you can push down and thats what my brother did which caused the trouble.I ll have to check i ve got the stereo code and then i ll have a go at resetting the alarm system,it s a standard Subaru fob system the battery was dead when i got it but the new battery isn t working either

Ah, that flap thing leaver is a security feature!
If the little leaver is pushed 1 way the boot will open and if its pushed the other way it will secure the boot and wont unlock from the inside of the car!
Basicly if you was on "Holiday or out" you can secure the boot and put your valuables in it know if anyone broke in via the front they wont be able to pull the leaver to let them self's in the boot and help them self's to what ever you have!
