Can I ask a daft question. I'm looking to fit a centre pod that holds three gagues. One will be boost, one oil pressure, what about the third? Any suggestions?

Oil temp is MORE important to have on a road car, imho.

This lets you warm it up before heavy abuse, and once your oil pressure gauge has drooped it's dead already.... I have both of course !

as said oil temp MUCH MUCH more important,,,, oil presure just tells you the engine is toast,,, people say they " caught " the engine before it caused any damage but even at idle,,,, the car is spinning the crank at 800rpm with no oil,,,,, driving it will be at 3k,,,,, no oil presure and the engine is wrecked

high oil temp though with show if theres no oil or if theres a issue of somethng else happening to the engine causing the oil temp to rise

You wanna know what's the best combination?

1.Oil temp - this way you can know when oil temp has reached a warm enough temp (aka around 90C) to start abusing the car

2. EGT - with this gauge you will know when you've to stop pushing padel to metal, it's monitoring the exhaust gas temperature.

3. Boost - Finally, this important gauge you cannot give up on, lets you make sure you don't miss boost a little or (dear god) too overboost too much and break something

Buy some good quality gauges, you won't regret it!

IMHO Buy Defi's because they can record what's going on with the car and let you play it back, and can set them so they can warn you buy beeping and flashing if you go over the target you set them to!

Say you set the oil pressure to 40psi min and it goes under that it will warn you and then you know to shut the engine down ASAP before it blows or ceases up saving you lots of money!

Just a quick example that!

when it drops thats when the engine has already died, its like having gauge that tells you " i knew that would happen" ,,,,, or a speed camera detector that says " you have just been done for speeding ! "

I like my oil temp gauge...gave me a shock when I first got it over how long it took to warm up. I just hadn't realised before. I now cringe when I see/hear people ragging their car from cold or even almost cold. Probably less useful now I know how long ish to wait, but still the gauge I'd go for for road use.

90 Degrees !

Mine has only ever hit a maximum of 98 !

Since fitting an oil cooler my maximum is now 78-80 degrees.

dunx

P.S. What is a dangerous EGT value (?), mine's in located in the up-pipe !

I don't like his bed sheets!

The gauges seem good for the price! Looks like a genuine guy and even I would buy from him if I was looking!

No, you get everything to fit your snazzy gauge, but you need the metal adaptor to fit onto cyl 3.

id imagine it doenst come with one, as you could do either that of plug the sender into a sandwhich plate.
