Default Getting bored again

Well I first owned a Bugeye for 12 months.Lightly modified. Got bored v quickly.
Then a Black 53 plate STI moded to 340 bhp. Had it 2 years. Got bored.[I think]
Now I have an RB5 that has 330/310, uprated suspension, Prodrive brakes, and after a year I'm getting bored.

I can't see me driving anything other than an Impreza. So what next?

Good options but cash is an issue. £8k max

I was looking at a 04 JDM STI with huge mods at just over £12k. Fantastic car but I can't spend that much on a weekend toy.

have the same thing as you bob, afetr 6 months to a year i get itchy feet and fancy a change and spend months looking at m3's, evo mr's etc trying to get away from the brand but always come back to a impreza i have been looking at replacing my p1 with a newer car or mod the p1 even more but i am worried that if i did mod with a 2.5 and 321t that in 6 months i would get itchy feet again and want to sell up so i would loose out on a lot of cash as i cant see me getting the same return back on what it would cost to do

That's funny cos I keep looking at P1's.

I must admit the Grey colour of the RB5 never looks clean even when it's polished and that's 1 reason why I want to change.

A perfect car for me [I think] is a P1 with a forged rebuild and some choice mods [18 "Pff7's, Alcons, Gauges, Nur Spec, etc, etc] Not for 8k though.

bob i would not say that 8k is far off or if not what you would need, people seem to be selling p1's up at the minute from as little as 6.5k ll the way up to 12k fo a standard low millage minter, personaly i would not buy one without an engine replacement with a remap or as you say a forged build. i held out when i first bought mine for 11k 2.5years ago then sold it for the same a year later due to money problems but had the joy to buy it back for 8k back in october ofr 8k. when i bought it it had just and a new clutch and engine fitted as it went pop so took it straight to bob rawle who mapped it with a full decat added, walbro and tsl pannel filter and it runs around 320/330 and its a great all round car as i fitted a set of kyb adjustables and whiteline rear arb, alk and alloys drop links. they are fantastic cars and can not fault them which makes it even harder when thinking if to sell up or not as i regtreted it the day it went but needs must as they say i am just glad i got to buy it back a year later

here you go

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/977321.htm

speak to david at api to see what level of build it had and i am sure if you popped down with 8.5k they would take it

oh no Bob here you go again (a man from my own heart although you do slightly better than me at keeping hold of them)
As you know I only had the Hawk sti for the best part of 6 months. The RB5 that I took in part ex and thought I would love stayed with me for around 5 weeks. If I'm honest I regret selling the blob sti...........

The 2.5 lump just didn't cut it for me and the RB5 was standard so well down on power from what I was used to. On the plus side it helped me to sell it within 24 hours of putting it up for sale and I lost very little on the Hawkeye as a result.

If/ when I return I think I'll be looking at something JDM (whether that be blob/ hawk or hatch) On the other side it will be Evo 9GT or EvoX.

Will be watching you with interest

cant beat a type ra or type r for the close ratio gearbox and pure rawness.

i cant see me ever getting bored

standard 0-60 is just over 4 secs.

thats supercar performance for very little money.

for your budget you could have change and spend it on more things ecu etc. ive just forged mine so i can take her to 500+bhp safely,it running 300 at the minute and feels quick cant wait for 400
hopefully soon now its run in

simtek
md321

test drive one like no other impreza i promise

see theses site for more info on the lightweight impreza models

You do realise the reasons you like your car will soon dissapear once you fit an MD321 as it will smash your gearbox very quickly

Just running with the Mrs 306 hdi at the mo. Taking a break from performance cars and banked the cash until I can decide what I really want. Rushed in to the Hawkeye purchase a little so sensible head on at the moment as the next one really needs to be a keeper like the blob (ie 3 years plus)
