Hello One And All
Paid up a week ago and been having a good read up on trying to absorb as much info on these cars as I can.
Picked up my first scooby today and I love it. Had a 3 door but expecting a baby in October so needed a 4 door so this is my sensible purchase
It is a bugeye so don't flame me too much
It is absolutely bog standard which is good so I can put my tatseful mark
on it. Needs a really good clean and detailing though, but here's a couple of taster pics.
New set of 18's next week and pricing up a new Blitz Nur Spec cat back system to unleash that sexy rumble.
Very comfortable to drive and very smooth. So, very happy so far. Any tips of any kind feel free to comment.

Nice car, how many miles?
Read more on here about exhausts and wheels, lots of good advice to be had - not saying all of it is good though
Handling mods would be high on my list, then brakes.
Bugeyes are getting more popular.

Only 66k on it and been serviced consistantly with cambelt done last year and new brakes. Got a good deal and so far can't find any faults
Just sold a GT4 with full Tein coilovers, but don't want such a harsh ride for a baby so some Tein springs are on the list to improve the handling.

Cheers fella. Needs a proper detailing as sadi to bring it back to life a little. Wheels and exhaust are being sorted next week. Doing some homework on the exhausts at the moment. Don't want anything too loud (baby related) but somethinng that will give the deep burble.

Yeah I quite like the fact is "unmolested". Never had Tein's until they were on my 4 and it was so tight I loved it. They may be worth more than other suspension but worth every single penny.

Very nice car, and the best colour in my humble opinion
The Nur Spec is a great choice of exhaust, nice and subtle with the bung in and pure ASBO once it's out
Tein springs are a good way to go, I'm please with the ride of whitelines as well. If you can afford them it is worth looking at BC coilovers; theycome with some good spring ratings and aren't as hard as other coilovers.
Worth looking at the ARBs too, and replacing the rear plastic droplinks, although the front ones should be the same rose jointed ones as the STI and will work fine.
As far as the wheels, you can go quite low and fit 235 section tyres without any issues if you get a sensible wheel offset - I went for ET48.

Cheers for the info Jon. Will definately look to upgrade all suspension. Quite lucky as I have Scoobybits just round the corner from me too.
