Cool

Very nice.
Worth a look if you might want a 3 series 330CI

Can't say that I'm too taken with the X-type's looks.

A handsome car, but too retro in my opinion.
It's a shame that they can't find a more modern interpretation of their classic shape.

Cheers,

Something a bit more XJ220 (without the pricetag and with ABS)

I saw an X-Type on the road before Xmas - looks a lot better in the flesh, a very tidy looking car. The pictures don't do it justice.

well, for me, The X-Type is my next car!

I have a few more years left to pay on the Scooby, and much as I love it, I don't like the new shape and by all accounts it is not as raw as the original.

The X Type IMHO is a classy looking motor and it will be 4WD and with a pokey motor, should be reasonably quick. I am sure that it will be well built and well specced inside too. So unless something major happens I think I will go for one of these!

More info in this week's Autocar.

The 3 litre seems quite fast and probably on par with current Scoob MY01 performance-wise. The 3 litre version does 0 -60 in 6.5 secs and 0 - 100 in 16.8. The "free booklet" with Autocar appeared to be Jaguar sponsored so probably not impartial. I'll wait for an indepedent test drive report before commenting on the handling.

My wife wants me to get the X type when I replace my MY98. I think I'd rather have a UK STi when it comes out.

I'm following it with interest too. I think the X-type R will be the one to watch though - likely to be a supercharged 3.0 V6 with around 300 bhp... mmmmm... Wish they'd shoe-horn in the 400bhp supercharged 4.0 V8!
