I am in the same boat, I have a 95 with a broken engine. I have been looking at this place
SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 TURBO WRX 92-98 ENGINE SUPPLY&FIT on eBay, also, Vehicle Repair Servicing, Car Vehicle, Local Services (end time 20-May-09 15:33:49 BST)
At least if the place will fit it too it takes a lot of the hassle away. Apart from that you will be looking at £400 - £600 for a replacement engine and then the labour cost of someone fitting it.

I would suggest calling Jason @ Scoobybits. He may be able to help you out.

Always has spares as he is a well known breaker of Scoobs on here.
