Whats the difference?
Hi, I've been looking for a nice classic STi for some time now. I recently came across a WRX RA which looks absolutely spotless. It is at the very top of my budget so I would not be able to mod for some time. I have driven a normal WRX and wasn't that impressed which is why I started looking for an STi. Whats make an RA different from the normal WRX?

I believe the RA also has a very short ratio gearbox, so better accelaration but not so good top end.
Have a read through this topic it has some mentions of the RA:

The RA sibling was cheaper because it had so much kit deleted, steel wheels, no colour coding etc.
It was lighter and had shorter gearing though.
Do not confuse the RA with the newage Spec C which was more expensive due to performance mofifications.

Yes it is an RA!
The WRC Limited's came in 74f,
Its the same as mine, close ratio box and 276bhp as standard. It will probably top out at about 120mph ish, but it gets there rather sharpish.
WRX had no roof vent or DCCD and had the addition of ABS, which the STi didn't have.
The Limited had a few extras and in my opinion is the one to have

The wrx ra limiteds that i have seen came with some pink sti suspension parts......which were not on the sti version ra limited as standard.
There is a tread on here somewhere dedicated to the Wrx type ra limited..
