Default How to get chatter!

Just to ask what is,and how do you get chatter?I have a dump valve on my uk scoob that i love(ok im a chav)but after hearing a wrx chatter today i want that noise!I know that its not everyones cup of tea but would really like to know more.thanks

It won't have been waste gate chatter, it was probably a Cold Air In-Take kit. Mine does it when I lift off the throttle.....gives a nice little chatter. But not the sort of chatter which you get from external waste gates.

I think and i could be wrong that you take off your Dv and put on a blanking plate and this forces the air back though the turbo,be warned this will damage your turbo.Please double check thou because i could be wrong!!.

Yeah, that's what it is mate. But you don't need to take your DV off.

It comes from putting any non-standard air filter kit on.

I have an Apexi Induction Kit and get the chatter. Spent ages blipping the throttle under load to get the sound

I did this with the standard dump valve on the car & since blanking off the dv and fitting a dp there is no increase/difference in the noise. The poster above may have knowledge of problems that arrise with blanking off the dv but nothing to do with the creation of wastegate chatter as far as I am aware.

front mount and a recirculating valve=lots of chatter,mine chatters loads,loud as well
