Another team confirmed now (cheque in the post today or tomorrow) and another one soon hopefully, will let you know.
Are you planning on doing some food beforehand? Perhaps we could find a transport cafe to get some bacon butties?
Cheers
Richard

Thats a lot of bacon butties Can I book in advance with 2 rashers, 1 egg and a dash of heinz ketchup?
Or is it a ploy to weigh down the opposition to gain those vital .1 secs per lap? Me thinks my team needs some outdoor praccy before we hit Milton Keynes as there appears to be some stiff competition.

OK Everybody...the race is ON!
Daytona is now booked for a Private event on 14th April. It will be a 3 hour () endurance event using the 1,360 metre (outdoor!) International circuit, and 390cc prokarts.
Details of the circuit can be found here:
http://www.daytona.co.uk/milton_keynes.htm
There are 26 Karts available, so there is space for 26 teams of 3 to 6 drivers. The cost per team is fixed at £230 per team, so the cost per driver works out as:
3 driver team £76.66 each
4 driver team £57.50 each
5 driver team £46.00 each
6 driver team £38.33 each
If you would like to enter as a team, the designated Team Captain must send me payment of £230. The Team Captain is then responsble for collecting money from their team members. You are free to choose who/how many are in your team.
If you want to enter as an individual, I will allocate you to a team closer to the event. For simplicity, I will assume that all individuals will end up in teams of 6, so you should send me payment of £38.33.
ALL PLACES WILL BE ALLOCATED ON A FIRST PAYED, FIRST SERVED BASIS. IF YOU WANT TO ENTER - SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!
If you are interested, please e-mail me at david@harbige.net for details of where to send payment, and booking conditions.
Drivers aged 16-18 ARE allowed, but MUST be accompanied by their legal guardian.
Registration starts at 13:00, so you MUST get to the circuit by this time.
If you require any further details, either e-mail me, or post your questions to this thread.
Currently, enough people have expressed interest to field 23 teams, so I'm confident that we will have a full event.
I look forward to hearing from you all.

David can you keep us informed as to how many teams have paid. I'm still planning on entering a team but I don't have £230 of my own money to pay out right so I'm having to wait for the members of my team to pay me

Neanderthal,
I will provide updates, but it's a bit early yet as there hasn't been enough time for cheques to arrive. In fact, I've only received payment from one person so far () (Thanks, Simon!), although a couple more have mentioned that their cheques are in the post.

Oh yeah. David - any idea what time the event is likely to start as my team want to know as we got an hours drive either way from Cambridge.

P1Fanatic - Registration for the race beings at 13:00 - everybody must be at the circuit by this time. The whole shebang should be finished by about 18:00, although I may look into the possibility of aranging a restaurant for afterwards.
DJ Dunk - I've heard a rumour that you're considering joining the GIRLs team!

Payment on the way for 2 teams. Not sure about the other team yet, have to speak to them tomorrow.
1st team - Tigers - Team Captain: Paul
2nd team - tba - Team Captain: Nicky
Can I just ask, if you don't get enough monies by the date you have to pay Daytona, will you not bother to book it so we don't loose our money, or will you pay it anyway and hope for the best.
Cheers.

Tracey,
I have to sign the contract by next Monday, so that will be the day I decide whther to go with it or not.
If I haven't received "enough" cheques (which does not mean I expect to get 20 teams paid for up front), I'll cancel the booking and everybody who has paid will get their money back.
If I decide to go with it, the event will go ahead, and I'll have to foot the bill if I don't get enough teams. This is why there will be no refunds if people drop out once they have booked (unless I can fill their space with somebody else).
Full details of the terms of entry are in the e-mail I have sent to all who have requested payment details.

Scoob99 - details were posted to your hotmail address on Monday - please e-mail me at david@harbige.net if you have not received them. Is No. 2 Son not coming, then?
Dave T-S - It's my pleasure. I just hope it all happens smoothly. Is Mrs T-S on your team, or does she fancy joining the Scooby Girls team?
