Evos have always been better out of the box, apart from some models such as the Spec C RA and RA-Rs. But then again Evos have at least a £5k premium over the equivalent Impreza. Your car may be quicker in a straight line if his is standard but his wil handle better unless you have modified your suspension.

I mean the new one fella, it,s not out yet....
But don,t get me started on the Evo Scooby debate, i,ve owned 4 Evos, 1 of them was 470bhp/456 ft/lb and i,ve be lucky enought to won a Hawkeye Spec C, THE LATTER being the better car imo....

I may be missing the point, but asking on a Subaru forum if a Scooby or an Evo is better.......
My guess is the majority on here will say Scooby, however ask on an Evo forum and they'll say the Evo...
Bit like you & your mates, but on a bigger scale
Not really rocket science is it?

out the box, the evo's a batter car (now i've caused it) in all but cost, how ever, take the cash you save buying and running an evo compared to the scoob, drop it into a scoob and thats a whole different ball game

The scoob just for the sound alone. Plus they are easy to work on yes. I wanted an EVO before I got my scoob but the insurance was double on a 4 GSR compared to my WRX classic. In a ideal world - I would have both but the Mrs is pregnant now so thats out the window

I always thought this too, but isn't this only true of UK models. If you're looking at JDM it seems to be the other way around.
Any track lap times I see for japan the impreza is always in front
I'd quite like to know if this observation is true, anyone know?

Plus, whats this Scoobs are easier to work on part?
How so....? The Evo I find is much easier and laid out better to get to things, with the exception being the clutch.
Turbo, cams, pistons/rods etc etc are easy as pie to get to.

have you indeed ever drove one to compare?
The AYC which you are blatantly referring to does not actually do the driver any favours whatsoever, its more of a hindrance than anything.

IMO all things being equal the Evo is statistically the better car and probably faster on a track, but many people who have owned both say the Scoob is an easier car to live with on the road. Let's face it both marques have some cracking versions.
