Question

Does the lock mechanism still work when a thatcham cat 1 alarm is installed? I know the alarm would sound, I just would like to know if it is possible to unlock the door with the key. Many thanks.

Yep does on mine. Also on mine, you can unlock it, get in and touch this key thing against a bit on the dash to disarm it, in case the remote batteries go flat.

You can unlock the car with the key with the Sigma M30 which is what is fitted by Subaru UK/IM

Thanks for all the help so far. My car is a dutch import, and I do not have a Sigma Alarm. I will try the lock tonight with the std Subaru keys.
