Type RA Specs - talk to me
I would ask on the RA forum but I guess most will be here too.
What are the basic specs for an MY00 Type RA WRC edition?
Standard output, which turbo, what gearbox - short 5th? forged internals (I assume not?)
Would I miss DCCD - I'm not a hero behind the wheel so I suspect not. I guess its got ABS?

MY00 would be Version 6, although mine is registered late in 1999 (in Japan) and is a V5 (not much difference between them tho)
280bhp, VF28 turbo (Version 5 RA) VF29 (Version 6 RA) Its a semi closed block, forged pistons, rods are not forged tho, same as all classic STI's. If you get the WRC it will have the RA roof vent, be sonic blue (74F) paint, Ltd edition blue front seats, ful electric pack (windows, mirrors, air con). Water spray, DCCD, No ABS tho. 2 pot rear calipers, the box is short ratio with a longer 5th gear. The only real differences between the V5 & V6 cars AFAIK is the V6 had different OE alloys and has blue coloured trim on the center console and dial surround (the V5 is just black). The V5 is rarer only 1000 made, the V6 has 2000.

Sorry, I should have said WRX Type RA - hence why I ask about missing DCCD and whether the internals are forged.
I think they've still got the VF29?? But I'm not sure what the ratios are like.

I never touch the dccd on my type r and I've said before I'd have the type r over a P1 in 'those discussions' but I've changed my mind.. my favourite out of the many Imprezas I've driven is a MY00 uk/euro turbo with a few mods. They really suit me and my wagon with a few bolt ons (vf35, walbro and remap) would waste a stock sti no probs.
I can't help thinking now that a P1 is the better choice for our roads, either that or an RB5 with a few tweaks.. infact I was looking for an RB5 and they command a premium because people like me who've had the rest want them.
My top Impreza would be a euro MY00 saloon in sonic blue with VF35, sports cat dp (so no dicking about for mot) magnex exhaust (with 2 silencers) walbro, ecutek remap for a nice 300bhp.
