Snetterton Track Day - Pics and Vids!
Well what a fappin awesome day.
For all you track day virgins all I can say is WHAT A FAPPIN RUSH. This was my second day and far better than the first due to both the track layout and the fact I had a bit more confidence this time.
Snetterton was the venue of choice and I've got to say it's really great to drive on especially for someone of my limited ability with plenty of run offs (which I didn't need thankfully) and more importantly great pie and chips for lunch.
As with the previous session I did at brands hatch, it was well run and well organised and apart from a couple of mentals, in cars they clearly didn't mind breaking, I always felt that my car was going to make it to the end which thankfully it did.
Crap tyres aside (now done 27k and still 6-8mm of tread ?!!??!) it must be said the scooby is a formidable track weapon and ok it was a novice day but apart from the little 2 seater thingy (see pics) and an evo (which stacked it on the next bend) nothing could touch it bearing in mind I'm also crap and was trying not to have to buy another set of brake pads.
Still full respect has got to go to the driver of the silver clio 172 standard engine (although stripped of its rear seats) it took 2-3 laps to finally shake it proving it down to the drivers not the cars!
Personally I like the novice format with polite gentlemanly overtaking mainly because I don't want to hurt my car ..... certainly will be signing up for another just as soon as I can afford it.
Any ways enjoy the piccs and vids and please excuse the commentary you do forget that the cameras on!
Vids taken on little olympus camera and mounted to the windscreen using a mobile phone holder! Look pretty good considering!
