Hi, I have come across them on the Trader and they do have a few cars in stock, just nothing that took our fancy. Only two classics there at the moment I think.

No specific colour really, just not looking for a green one. I have seen a few great examples... low miles, FSH etc.... but I don't think a green one would sell very well when it comes to selling it on.
I suppose if I planned to keep it until it was ran into the ground then I would be open to green, but it is just something that probably we will have just until I am back at work, and have the extra year on the road to bring the insurance down.
The other half is gutted at the insurance costs as he has been driving a fair few years, and has a few performance cars under his belt. However even though I have driven a few cars, this will be the first 'performance car' .....
So a simple answer...... not a green one! lol

As insurance is an issue its UK only. I'm 31 and clean as a whistle and I think insurance on these is a bit OTT but its worth it I guess.
I agree on the green, its not my COT either. Just find the lowest owners, lowest miles, good history car you can find/afford and go have a look.

I have seen some nice ones on here the last few weeks, but I am having the case where people are beating me too them. I wanted to see a car this am, but someone was going to see it this pm and the seller had no contact details in case we bought it, and then the other people travelled and we had bought it.
Similar case with another. So that has been two that I have missed. I am just being all bloody female about it. There are plenty of good ones out there, and I am looking for the right one, not the one that I can get the quickest.
Everyone with a classic for sale seems to be down south and me being in the midlands is causing problems getting there to see the cars.
Definatly looking for a uk model now though.

Thanks.
As soon as I get one i'll give it a good wash and polish and then get some pics one.
I'm just frustrated I have got the money just waiting.
Whats to bet if I put the money in the bank one would come up and it would take 3 days to transfer!

Classics and bugeyes are nearly similar in prices (something that was on the cards for many years)
I think pink pantha is right in that with a bug you can get a better spec than on a UK car - although some bug WRXs came with horrid seats.
Personally though, as much as I don't mind the bug front I want a classic shape more.
If you've read any of my posts you'll read me banging on about only buying a UK car - well looks like I'm going to get an import after all And one that I've secretly coveted for some time

Thanks all, I have spoke to Moley and also some people at A-Plan, and a wrx was no good. So it's definatly a classic. I have had a few half deicent quotes on a wrx and even an sti.... but still on the steep side for home much the car will be on the road.
A uk classic will definatly be the way forward now, the tax, the insurance will all be the cheapest.
We are still open to a wrx but the other half would prefer it to be at least an 03 as he is not a fan of bug eyes, although at the right price and if it were the right car, I could convert him easily!

Yeah I have noticed they are all getting snapped up.
Just don't want to be paying for a classic what I could get for a wrx, if you see what I mean.
So if it comes to that we will have to re consider what we are looking for, but at the moment, a classic it is.

Well I don't really have too much of a budget, just have to see the car, and be sensible and look at what it is worth.
Got a different budget fot a classic, or a newage.... if you see what I mean.

Just to say a classic shape WRX will be import only so is going to be more to insure. UK cars were known as WRX from the bugeye onwards so should be cheaper to insure.
