Red face Auction Price 54 plate STi, don't read if nervous.

Mate in the trade told me this, please don't shoot the messanger.

54 plate STi apparantly in good condition at Bawtry car auction last week, seller failed to put a reserve on it. Nobody wanted it so it went for £2300. I'm told there was a stunned silence after the hammer went down.

Sign of the times.

Image, High running costs, and the credit crunch make them unwanted.

Could break it up and only sell half the bits and scrap the rest giving a profit to boot

As the Yen is currently busy collapsing, I wonder if imports will also start to get very cheap? I know the pound went down a lot recently but it looks like the Yen could soon overtake it....?

Nervous, no, because that's a typo! There's a 1 missing from the front.

We are not told if it was a Cat Write Off, if it was running sweetly, if the interior was intact, if it was a stolen recovered ..........

Clearly, it was cheap and these things are cheap for a reason - very rarely do you get a bargain! The dealers who would have been there buying are hard headed and know whats what!

I wouldn't get too concerned

^^^
That's true, must have been something wrong with it. But 2.3k is cheap even if it needs a bit of work
