Question Tyres for an 06/7 2.5l STi?

Hi,
The 06 STi I test drove yesterday had Toyo tyres on rather than the standard Bridgestone. When I asked why this was I was told that it's probably 2 reasons. 1 they grip better, and 2 they're cheaper. How true's this? What are the best road tyres if you want a compromise between grip and good wear rate?
Cheers, Toby

The std RE-070's are fantastic in the dry, except for the tram-lining... but not so hot in the wet/slush/snow.... Toyo's are cheaper, and better in the wet, but a bit soft ! imho

I have a set of R888's for summer, and toyo's for winter !

HTH

That's a good one! Toyo's gripping better than the RE070. Whoever told you that was lying through their teeth.

I've tried the RE070, Pirelli P Zero Corsa Assimetrico, Toyo T1-R and Michelin PS2.

I would rank them in this order:

1 - RE070
2 - Corsa Assim
3 - Michelin PS2
4 - Toyo
