Terrible value! I wouldnt enetertain it. Im a big MS enthusiast, but £650 for something that used to cost about £100 as a kit is taking the ****: especially when Andy Forrest or Simon Roe could supply and map an A'PEXi for a similar sort of price...

F*cking hell! Theyre charging more than ONE THOUSAND POUNDS ! Who in their right mind would waste £1,000 on a MegaSquirt when you can proabaly buy a SimTek for the same amount, mapped by a reputable Impreza specialist?

Prove to me that isn't good value.
Megasquirt has come on in the past few years, off the shelf assembled ECUs built on that technology are NOT £100, far from it. If you want a VEMs you're looking for £500 minimum, and if you had to pay someone to do a loom adaptor you would easily spend £650+vat.
If it actually works, and the maps are of good quality, then who is to say that the price isn't okay.

From reading around the MS system was developed to read a 36-1 crank trigger which the scoob does not use.
but you could fit a new pulley with the correct amount of teeth and self build kits are around £230 for latest versions.
my point is this would quite likely not be the cheapest and hassle free way of doing a ecu upgrade but as a fun project to me is a far more interesting prospect than handing over ££ and getting back a newly mapped car with shiny ecu.
i have done lots of pcb work for a living so this really appeals to me its a shame about the crank trigger setup though otherwise it would be plug and play.
knowing the MS community i suspect as we speak someone is developing this further.
