Default Crashed my Scooby

Hey Guys its abit of a delay on posting this been pretty banged up. Lost control on a country road on my way home from a friends on 2nd January. Came to a S Bend which was wet and greasy the car understeered and the tried to correct which resulted in malor oversteer and threw me off the road into the ditch. Gutted, Got away with a cracked ankle, cuts to head and nose and cracked ribs, my right arm has had some tendon damage where i didn't let go of the wheel also a broken index finger. I'm feeling much better now walking around hurts like hell if i sneeze or cough because of my ribs.

Car is trashed and has been writen off. In a fight now with insurance as offered me £9250 for it a 55 plate Type UK STi with 26k on the clock, dream on. Sent them 10 pieces of evidence to support my rejection so waiting on another offer.

Heres some pics that my caring father took whilst i was in the back of the Ambulance.

I'm Gutted

Matt

It was really surreal as was doing 40 - 45mph knew the roads were bad so wasnt pushing it and front end just went tapped the throttle and it seemed that the DCCD put the power to the rear as it was in Auto and it just snapped around and boom.

A Scoob down, but you'll mend, in the end that's all that counts.

Good luck fighting the chiselling gits !

Best thing would have been to drop the clutch but hindsight is always 20/20

At least you got out.

glad u got out of it. Think without the airbags you'd now be as dead as a Dando

maybe you should see if you can buy the car back for parts. The gear box will be worth a couple of grand

so easy to bin it in nasty weather conditions though, i nearly binned mine yesterday on the way home from work, suddenly found a slippery bit and went sideways, saved it with opposite lock but then nearly flew off the other way (too much lock!). Big snakey moment down the road and somehow stayed on the dark stuff <phew>

hope the insurance company come back with a better value

that looks nasty glad you're ok.

be interested to hear how you get on trying to get a better price, I crashed a ford escort a number of years ago and was a write off, 3 times I told the guy to go do one and he always came back with the same price .....

Beware of the police charging you with driving without due care and attention. It has been known for this to happen.

Thanks alot Guys for your kind words.

Had the police come to see me bedside and what a *****. ! was alright but the one speaking to me well lets say i think i would have nutted him given half the chance. He said " what happened then? " i told him that i was doing 40-45mph lost the front tried saving it but the rear kicked round and spat me off. He's Reply was " hahaha i very much doubt it as we have tested the road and took our traffic car through the bend at 70mph and we never slipped even a little bit " i said well you've have just broken the law as the road is a 60mph limit and you are lying because theres no chance a Vectra Estate could take that bend at 70mph ( is a blind 80 degree right then instantly left on a country B road, doubt the scooby could do that in the dry my Focus RS never could and that made my mates wr1 look soft in the handling department. ) anyway i didnt mention that to him and he replied " you were doing 80mph+ " i said look just because there's a scooby in the ditch you automatically assume i was speeding. He replied " thats exactly what i think " I said i think you better leave as i need to rest and i dont wanna listen to your rubbish anymore. Then he lent forward to me and said " you better be carefull i've known people to feel ok after an accident then brown-bred 24hrs later " Then they left and havent heard anything since. Would love to see him off duty one day.
