pritty sure if you tax now it will be for feb, if you tax in the 2nd week in jan then it conts for all jan. But as your at the end should be for feb

I think you will find they will backdate it, I have had this trouble before.

If you have a renewal form then you can do it half way through the month, but not if the cars sorned.

That is correct. I have just this minute come back from taxing our Fiat: the Post Master told me that an untaxed car that was taxed today would only get a disk valid till end December 2009 (i.e. 11 months). However, a tax disk purchased tomorrow (30 January) for an untaxed car would be valid for the full year (i.e. till end January 2010).

So unless he's lying/misinformed, you should be able to pop into your Post Office tomorrow and get a disk in time for your journey in the evening.
