At a guess i would say that they are a different fittings and you need to change the ones on your new seats for the old ones if this is possible.

I had the same when I fitted bugeye seats to my classic legacy. I changed the seatbelt catches on the seat base to the ones from the old seats and it was perfect, it's a common mistake.

you will need a star tool to get the old off and just put the old ones of your seats on the new.

When I did mine mate swapped the old ones for the new ones, took a bit of modifying the brackets to get them to fit but was easy enough.
Try a local breakers etc for the catches if you have sold your old ones.

I wouldn't personally modify any part of a seatbelt get some new catches from a breakers.
