Default Is V-Power alone enough or is an Octane Booster a must?

Just wondering as I recently bought an STI RA Ver 2 but have been running her on a strict diet of V-Power only. Will this be enough or should I be using an octane booster too?

Should be okay. Has it been mapped for UK fuel? Later STI's need to be mapped for the lower octane fuel here in the UK, but IIRC Japanese fuel of the early-mid 90's was a lower rating anyway. I'm sure someone will either confirm or shoot me down in flames lol!

Nah mate it hasn't been mapped for UK Fuel yet. The car has only been in the country since July last year and I know the previous owner didn't have this done.

It,s worth getting it mapped anyway to release some extra ponnies and just to be safe..

Jap fuel at the time your car was made was less than VPowers 99 ron mate so would do no harm.

v-power should be fine in v1 and v2 sti. v3 jdm sti run a more agressive map and benifit from a remap. v2 sti map is very simular to the z4 map i think.

Whilst youre right about the fuel, Id suggest erring on the side of caution with an STI or STI Type-RA.

Don't they give the owner the option of puting in 100RON or a lower grade fuel in Japan? Don't they say 98 RON recommended here, but you can use 95...
