Subaru Mappers Down South - Any recommendations?
Hi all,
Have a Version 3 1996 STi Wagon import and looking to get a new stand-alone ECU (something like Power FC/Simtek - Supply, Fit & Map) and also have it mapped as it's running really rich and even though I'm using VPower all the time it's still not the right octane for an import, getting terrible fuel consumption (190 miles to a full tank) and I've been told the maps run pretty rich for the imports.
Dyno time would be ideal as it's running really rich and I want to pin point any problems. Don't want anything fancy map wise just one as it's just my run around, very simple mods inc full turbo back 3inch afterburner R system and HKS filter, that's all.
Does anyone have any down south suggestions? Live in Surrey but don't mind travelling for a few hours to find the right people.
Any recommendations/suggestions appreciated
Cheers,
M

And Simon replies bloody quickly, it's a done deal For some reason I thought he was way up North but Kent isn't far at all thought it would be a 5 hour drive!
Think I'll go for power FC as a little cheaper and I don't need anything fancy, roll on the session
Cheers Chaps

As mentioned above Simon is based in Maidstone, but covers all of the south.... and midlands..... and most of the north aswell i believe!!!
I have used him several times, and know many others who have aswell, and have never heard a bad word about him.
His work is fantastic, and he is a very down to earth and friendly guy aswell

Looks like we will get on then
I know where Kent is lol for some reason I just thought he was up North as I bought the car way up North and the chap recommended him so just assumed he was up North
As they say assumption is the mother of all **** ups! (That might be rubbish)

i think he makes regular trips up north as for your ecu choice i would speak to him about the ESL daughterboard that is avaliable from him and other mappers as it's cheaper than the Power FC (depending where you get it from)and the Power FC is older (no knock control and cant use the OEM diagnostics whereas the daughterboard does) but obviously speak to Simon (JGM) about it.

I also Highly Recommend MartynJ (Authorised Trader on here) Engine tuner in Plymouth.
Martyn will setup the car both on the rollers and on the road.[/QUOTE]
I vote alan jeffreys in plymouth ( same as above) Great work and great blokes
