Put BP Ultimate in my 06 STI...
I have had the car 2 years and have only ever run the car on Shell Optimax/V-power..
driving back from the autosport show at the weekend my fuel light came on so i pulled into the next services to refuel.. it was a BP garage so i stuck BP ultimate in as I probably didnt have enough fuel to get to the next services.
I only put £18 pounds worth in to see me home..
having done some reading on here theres alot of negative talk about BP Ultimate! will my car be ok? I will be running it on V Power from now on.

Hi drtchock,
(I bought your old TSL GroupN B.Box)
It is said to be rubbish, but mine never complained on the commute to work...
Try to fill mine with V-Power a.s.a.p. !
Some will say it's all from the same refinery, but it can't be that bad, can it ?
dunx

My car is mapped for V Power now though, so that's all I put in it.

Used a few tanks of Tesco 99 in my STI,didn't notice any difference between that and V Power performance wise BUT as said above,it did make a difference mpg wise - i too got less miles to a tank with Tesco 99.

I'll second that! I was stuck and put some in my wagon before xmas and the knock levels on the power FC meant I had to drop the boost from 1.3bar to 0.95bar to put the levels the same on WOT as tesco 99.. I drove it around sensibly until it was all gone and filled back up with tesco 99 and back to full boost and low knock levels.

I try to always carry some octane boost in the boot, so if you get caught out with low fuel you can use any super unleaded! But as above try not to make a habit out of it thank god theres more tescos than BPs lol

BR mapped 2003 STI
knocklink lights up like a christmas tree using BP SUL
Never anything more than one or 2 greens on Optimax.
If I'm "caught short" and have to use BP...I switch to i mode on my 2008STI or maybe "S mode" and keep it light till I re-fuel... never S#
