Trade in price of my car quoted today!
I have been to view a car today(non subaru)at a franchised dealer, anyway to avoid wasting anyones time, myself and the missus asked the salesman for a trade-in price prior to testdriving the car we were interested in buying(a 2008 civic type r gt)
So off he toddles to get his sheet, and borrows my keys to appraise my scooby(2007 sti type uk in white,18000 miles)
the saleman returns and says he is gonna make a few calls to get some bids in on the impreza, anyway 15 minutes pass then he returns with his value of my car,and the grand total my 07sti is worth against the civic type r(cheap car at £11995)is £9000
i was expecting a cheeky bid,but nine grand is just plain silly
has anyone else been offered such amazing price's on there scoob of late!

I was offered £8k for my white MY05 STI against a new Focus RS - sold the car privately in days for £12k cash.Got loads more options now with a straight cash buy and I am going to cancel the deposit I have on the Focus and get something German instead.

that could explain it buddy, but the guy also told me that if they took it in for £9000 then they would price it on the forecourt at £10995 to sell it on they would have a stampede at that price, the missu actually surgested chopping in the sti,buy the civic and then she was gonna chop in her pug 207 against the sti

Got offered 6.5k for a 21k 55 plate WRX PPP against a 56 plate STI up at 14990. My car, apparently, has been affected by the market, the one I was looking at hadn't. Based on that he wouldn't budge on price

you see thats the thing, dealers are claiming that the "credit crunch" and "resession" is killing the used car market, but only when it comes to trading in,i have seen 2 white hawk type uk's on autotrader for around £19000 at subaru dealers, yet the trade-in value is 10-11 grand
