Default How Many of you have been ripped off!!!

Over the last couple of weeks i have been looking through the different sections on scoobynet to find how many of you are being ripped off at the moment!!
Cant believe that these people can do such heartless and cowardly things to other people, never mind fellow scoobie owners.

I used to come on here all the time a few years back, and you would never hear/see anything like whats going on at present.

Its a real shame because the majority on here are a good bunch
spoiling it for the genuine ones!

I have once but only for £30 but on SIDC and it really pissed me off. If he wasn't 200 miles away from me he would of got a knock on the door. I would still buy of a car site but would be collection only......

Where I live people get wasted for the amounts some people have been ripped off with.

People need to be more careful.

The Scoobynet mission statement has highlited the need for a feedback type system, so the future looks bright.

Have bought a few things off here with no probs at all, but recently I've been stung to the tune of £100. Paid for some shocks that never arrived. Paypal have voted in my favour, which means nothing as they can't get funds off him.
This guy seems to have vanished of the face of the earth, his email is no longer valid and other forums i've tracked him to haven't seen any activity from him since november!

Doubt I'll ever buy from any forum ever again, unless it's local and i can pick it up myself.

as smoeone who is currently breaking a car it seems a shame that a few dodgy people are spoiling it for the rest, i too think an ebay feedback system would be a good idea, then you can buy with a lot more confidence.

cheers

As above i have used scoobynet for many years buying bits to mod my 93 wrx , sadly it is now written off and i have bought a 200sti prodrive style to replace it so am stripping it to pass parts on to others to help them out and to recoupe some money from a poor payout , feed back system is definately the way forward , i sold a gear box i had spare but could not guarentee condition, so offered to buy back at cost price if no good , gearbox was fine. I would not like to be ripped off so would not do the same to anyone else.

Had a few things not as described, luckily got my money back thru selling them on ebay (correctly described i might add)

Getting people to post things is the worst IMHO. I think 2 months is the record from immeadiate payment. Grrrrr

The worst thing is these people are always on here........

I've had no problems myself, but usually take time to talk to people to suss them out, if I'm selling I tend to make things sound worse to cover my RS.... one lad couldn't find the scabby paintwork on my TMIC 'cos it was so small !

Currently waiting for a front grille, due out on Monday !

I avoid low posters and obvious "dealers" if I can, don't do ebay so can't comment.

I Have a ongoing issue with a steveo21, sold me a set of upper and lower prodrive grille set for my Hawkeye STi, cheque cleared and no sign of item, emailed and PMed him twice now.

Checked all his previous posts and it seems he has a habit of this sort of thing, so first thing tommorow will send him a registered letter demanding my goods.

Also going to ask police and take a visit to the local court to se aout a small claims action.

Still in 2 minds about going to visit him as i am still raging, i dont mind the drive and the cost its the thought of someone ripping me off that gets me, i have his name and address so thats not a problem.

This place used to be great for buying and selling as it was mostly fellow S/N enthusiasts that would help you and everyone was honest.

Now its very possible that most ppl get riped off at some point, it does my head in.

Have also PMed admin with all the details, dont expect much to be done there though.

I bought a set of headlights and a front splitter off a guy on sidc. he claimed the lights were brand new which he forgot to mention some off the brackets were broken they were also spec c so they dont adjust so wont pass an mot so i had to fork out more money for another set off headlights. Also the splitter wasnt even the correct blue so had to get that painted again.

No problems buying or selling on here, in fact I'd describe them as excellent so far.

I've had one or two problems on ebay and with cheap online stores, I must admit that these days I'm willing to pay a few quid more to get goods from somewhere reputable, or from a shop instead of online to save hassle if it goes wrong.

However, it's difficult to resist a bargain

Well i know the guys address that has not sent my goods, sent hima threatining letter today registered post.

If he does not reply within 14 days i will either:
1. Go to police/small claims court.

2. Fu*k it and go all the way from Scotland to Warrington and collect my £100 in person, dont care how much it costs in peterol etc and how big he is i WILL go down there if he ignores me,lol just depends how raging i get.

Hopefully i will get the goods or refund as this seems to be his MO of waiting till last safe moment.
