Default Should I buy this 2003 STI PPP

Hi...

I looked at this car this morning...OMG what wicked car....I most definately want one now - but still not sure about this particular car because of the price...

Used Subaru Impreza 2003 2.0 WRX-STI TYPE UK PPP 4 Door Saloon for sale at AMC (Chelmsford) Ltd, Chelmsford, Essex

Ok...

So in it's favor...

1 onwer from new

Full subaru history

60,000 mile will be done before it's sold

Pro pack fitted but has a different back box

Upgraded pro drive wheels have just be reburbish and it has brand new Eagle F1 types on each corner

Pro drive suspension

New front disc and pads

STI mud flaps

6 month tax and years mot

12 warrenty and roadside assistant

But he won't budge on the price £9995.00

I was so impressed I nearly bought it there and then..

So what do you reckon...?

i'd say worth morelike £9k

The genuine PFF7s with brand new Eagle F1s (probably £500 just on rubber) and Prodrive suspension would do it for me.

Looks a great example though, i'd be tempted, even at 10k

i agree with Greig, have a look on here first. That is a mint example with the right bits, but you'll find a better car for that price IMHO.

doesnt matter what its worth, the dealer might already be loosing money on it. yer you could haggle, however that looks like a mint example. private sales are private sales, and you dont get warrentys or breakdown cover with them, hense why the dealer price is up. how much do u reckon a warrenty is on a 50k car?

£10k for STi in original thread seems OK to me. Yah Boo to the doom mongers posting about cheap Scoobs on SN.

You can pick 05 model year STI's up for 10k with less miles (30k) and PPP fitted, an improvement over an 03 car, so its worth 7-8k tops.

A better option
Subaru : Subaru Impreza STI PPP MY03 with many extras
An even better option (but in northern ireland)
Subaru : 2005 SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX STi 4dr Saloon
There is a black 2005 STI PPP with 33k on the clock at 10k (NI again but worth travelling for a good one!)
S M Motors (page 4 i think)
There is a JDM car (2005 sti) for 10k!!! 25k on the clock (better than a uk car)
2005, 54 reg. 25000 Miles, 310BHP Standard JDM Sti Model, DEFI Speedo, HID Lights, Afterburner Exhaust rear box & Centre pipe, Alarm, Ipod Alpine CD Player, Bluetooth phone kit. £9,995.

Just a selection available on pistonheads and in autotrader

Just sold my unmarked, 25000 mile, 2005 STI with PPP and a subsequent Zen remap for £8750, so a 2003 STI ppp for £9995 is well overpriced. Why don't you look at the free car valuations on the net with Parkers and What Car, at least you'll have a guide then of what to actually pay, or pay £3.50 and get the current Glass's guide valuations.

During these times of economic downturn, ALL cars are taking big hits on their values, ESPECIALLY high performance cars. It's written in every single motoring journal!

I cannot believe you guys are so thick..
Sorry but you all are making a Rod for your own backsides!

Stop the crap with telling people that this and that car is over priced... you all own Subaru's and should do everything to ensure it's status and value is retained.

This is the only car forum that does this so harshly, everytime someone asks this question and worse yet when someone puts up a car for sale in here for 'a high value', every man and his dog seems to want to say this crap and kill not only this gentlemans sale but you are killing the whole market as it will have a knock on effect!

You are the ones driving down the prices and de-valuing your own cars without thinking.
It is a rather stupid pratice on here and it's not sensible to be honest.

Please think of the bigger picture and the future!

Rgds

Waiting for someone with the line 'this is the real world blah blah blah'.. < More nonsence!

£9995. Don't worry, you will find a nice one, there are many out there owned by good people who care for, know and understand the Subaru brand! Look regularly in the private ads on here.

I've just bought a Smart car, 84 bhp, so I can have 12-18 months of paying off a few bills, then I will return, as I always have done in the past!
