The cambelt is WELL overdue - get it done as soon as possible! Materials age, you know - it's not all about mileage!

I would be worried about the cambelt 4 year changes and they do go because its age not mileage that kills them (rubber deteriorates with age and pollution)

err............cambelts tend not to give problems..........................until they go (without warning), then you have severe problems. I would get it changed ASAP.

You can't really "look after" a cambelt as such!

The fact that nothing has gone wrong is probably testament to the cars very low mileage for the age. It's too early in some ways to make judgments about its durability. when a standard car does 100k without any major complaints then you can give it a blooming good pat on the back IMHO

Oil changes and cambelt should always be done, though.

You can actually look after you cambelt by using belt dressing spray, it helps stop them perishing and cracking, I use it on AC, AHU`s etc it does help the belts last longer, I actually thought it was the tensioner that fail as opposed to the belts but I may be wrong,
As said above is it worth the risk/Gamble ?

You learn something new everyday! I wonder how many people know that though!

Agreed, it's not worth the risk! Couple of hundred quid for a cambelt change vs circa 2k for a rebuild!
