Thanks to Dingy for the rear wheel drive and 350bhp experience. Anyone who calls that Mk2 needs to go for a ride in it.
Type R,
Never caught up with you for the ride. Catch you next time.
salsa-king, craigamungos, audiodave, Kev, and Simon,
Thanks for a steady drive there and an entertaining drive back.

We caught that mk2 escort up in the corners but on the straights he blasted away and we were in a 300bhp impreza. Did anyone see it spitting flames cos you could if you followed it! Steve Wright

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the organisers, and pretty much everyone else who attended for being so friendly!
A special thankyou to Harj for looking after Karen and showing her a good time. !
Harj also put up with the Ginga-Ninja riding shotgun, which I thoroughly enjoyed and has now re-whetted ny appetite for track-days. Thankyou very, very much !
Shame about the the demise of that poor MY01
Tony - Sorry about what happened with your dead MY00, mate...Hope it all turns out OK.
James - I'll thumb a lift in your P1 next time instead of playing nanny to a poorly Fizz (Darren).
Cheers,
Squizz.

Would like to say a BIG thanks to, (in order of appearance) Stef (Impreza), Robin (Lotus Elise) and John Felstead (Saturn 5 rocket, with wheels), for taking me out for passenger rides.
It is very much appreciated by myself, and allowed me to enjoy YOUR cars with you.
Stef is not a complete nutter , but he is a very acomplished driver, with VERY impressive brakes on his Impreza, and he made an otherwise jittery pasenger feel confident in him and his car. Thanks.
Robin in his Elise, showed me how well 120BHP in an amazingly composed chassis, can give a 200BHP + Impreza a serious run for its money.
Again he instilled confidence in his, and his cars ability, and the sound of the engine was truly wonderful from inside the car.
The way it would flick through the chicanes was a pleasure to witness.
Truly a car that Colin Chapman would have been proud to have his name on.
John took me out in his not 100% healthy Westfield, nothing seriously wrong, but a little bit down on power, like I could tell .
I have to admit, as he accelerated very briskly down the pit lane, it frightened me.
The thought oh S**t what have I let myself in for flashed through my mind, will I ever see my kids again etc.
But once we were on the circuit, and I had accustomed myself to the awsome abilitiy of the car, and it has to be said the calm competence of the driver, it stopped being frightening.
The car appears to convey every nuance of its ability to the driver, and even as a passenger, I could feel how well balanced the car was.
As we went round the fast corners like the long left hander going up towards the lake, (Island Bend?)I found myself pushing the imaginary throttle pedal on my side, as John was pushing the real pedal on his side, drifting the car out to the edge of the track, and steering with the throttle.
Usually when I find myself as a passenger, being driven quickly, I am pressing my imaginary brake pedal, for all its worth, but not this time.
It was without doubt unlike ANY road car I have ever been in, and was completely intoxicating.
It would make a hooligan out of a nun, (no disrespect to members of the cloth).
As I said to John as we came back into the pits, the most fun you can have without getting your kit off.
Again I would like to say a MASSIVE thanks to all you three gentlemen, for allowing me the privilege of experiencing the feelings you all get when you drive your very different, but all very capable machines.
Nice to say hello to Kevin (K9VYN) and Phil (Salsas King), PTMW (with baby sun shade, cool, get it), Krissy (a fast lady, in the nicest possible way) and her husband (ex motorbike racer, so obviously a complete nutter , Robert with his Lotus Exige, not on track, Rum, Dales and Chris (who took JF for his brake pads), and all the rest of you who's names I can't remember.
Cheers MTR

Lee sorry i did give you a trip round, i will be at Donnington and jump in.
Shame about the late start, and various breaks. After 3pm the track was nice n dry and very few cars on.
It turns out my crappey VTEC controller was not working properly all afternoon, VTEC was comin in at 7000RPM, fine for most the track but the odd few corners i struggled.
Never mind i had a top day and it was nice to meet a few more people. Hunty i still want to have a passenger ride in your EVO, sorry i didnt say Hullo, trying to cram in the Track time. See u at Donny or Anglesay in March.
Cheers Stef for your organisation.
C U all at Donny. Matt
PS- I definetly see an improvement in that MY01. Glad everyone was OK.

Considerably warmer than Donnington the other week!
Big thanks to John Felstead for the ride on the sighting laps and first 'session'. The lift to the spares shop was the least I could do.
Nice to meet a few more people - MTR, the two guys from near the Westfield factory (I've spoken to you guys a few times before at Donno and still can't remember your names!) and Matt 'Type R'. Is it Krissy who is running in the Renault series this year?
Just uploading and editing my photos now - link to come soon.
Cheers,
Chris.

Thanks for a great day out guys, especially John's missile - I now know 'real' power (sorry Harj).
John, do all your passengers end up in the footwell like me?
I thought the driving skills and track etiquette was very high today (except for the Lister and one other), this made the driving very enjoyable. The tyre pressure advice was good and they lasted well as a result - I may even try higher pressure next time although Tyres Northampton won't get as much business! (thanks to TN for the air line and brake advice).

i had a great day also as a passenger
thanks to
Jason and his escort cossie
Mo and the 5door turbo (your mad in it)
thought that the track etiquette was not the standard that i have been use to b4!!!!
what do you others think??????
Did all the drivers go to the brief-in in the morning?????????? or was it that long b4 the went on track that they 4got what they had been told!!!!!
ask Jason!!!!!! i was with him as his passenger,he was waiting to get by a slower car!!! when a **** in a Impreza (dark blue M plate, i think) when by us on the outside (in a gap that was only just big enough to get through) like there was no tomorrow, look as if they could not control there speed!!! they had no respect for the other cars infront of it!!
Not good at all!!!!!
people had 4got to move to the right to let cars pass on the left!!!!!!!
there were some over taking on the right!!!!!
apart from that
i had a good time! lol

Chris great pics, I didnt encounter many problems with Track etiquette, compared to other events i have been too, only one small one with a P1, i was quicker under braking and through the bends, but nailed it on the straights. They did not hold me up too much, thanks for moving in the end.

Another great day out!!!
Johns Westfield seemed faster than ever, maybe it was the cold weather. If I didn't know better I'd say this low boost story was a fairy tail .
ChrisB, I'm one of the guys from near the Westfield factory, Lee was with me today.
Great to see Dave Upton again, the saviour of my hearing , glad your keeping well.
See you all next time.
Oh, and change your oil!

To All involved yesterday
Thanks for making my first track day so spectacular - I am absolutely hooked now.
Big thanks to Hunty for frightening the crap out of me in the Makkinen, and cheers also to "Mad" Eric and his 490bhp Skyline. The only man that can start laughing after telling me his brakes were shot at doing a ton into Cascades. I can only say that I have never had the opportunity to be looking down the track in front of us whilst sat ahead of the driver!!!! . I have also never seen a car being powerslid round every bend like that.
Thanks also to James (Top Jimbo) from Worcester for taking us out in his P1 - phenominal grip and composure. Last but not least thanks to Dales for taking me along again. It has made the new car decision very easy now - no more Pugs, Hondas, MR2's etc, it is going to be Scooby all the way as of March/April.
Shouts also out to Logiclee, Dingy for the amazing Mk2, Pumpers and mate, Rum, John, Steve, Stef, and the fastest guy of all in the MY95 Scoob - amazing.
See you all at the next one, hope the MY01 guys will do it again, though it did look better with the roof squashed

Great day all round again, I was a little cautious in the morning as it was still wet but when the track cleared there was no stopping me! The new AP's are AWESOME!!! ive never gone round a track like that before so im well chuffed, the BRST Car seemed to hold up even though I didn't get into 5th gear.
Great to put some faces to names and Squiz who is the ugliest passenger ive ever had LOL, apologies to the lads who I didn't take out cus when I was on track I was having too much fun and just wanted to stay out
Others on track were a little pain sometimes but nothing new though, Biggest scary moment for me was when I had a major Tank Slapper in Deers Leep not a good place to do it as I was facing oncoming cars for a moment.
To anyone who is planning or now does track days, I would reccomend AP's as they are simply awesome! and the Kit that Graham Goode Racing does seems to be far ahead of the other suppliers and I can't fault it!
See you at Dono

Just wanted to say thanks again to the following people for making my first attendance at a trackday so memorable
1) Hunty and the awesome Evo Makinen - I could very easily be persuaded out of my Scoob into one of those. It felt completely composed and very fast with superb brakes. (although the Yaw control is a strange feeling).
2) Mad Eric and his crazy Skyline. I seemed to spend more time looking out of the side window than the windscreen as we seemed to get out of shape on every bend. Quote of the day for me was from Eric as we went past the photographer at Lodge "Cameraman - I'll give you something to $$$$ing photgraph!!" whilst taking the corner at what felt like full opposite lock. Whoever was taking the photos, I'd love to have a look at them.
3) Chap with the M reg dark blue WRX (sorry I forgot to ask your name)who was able to overtake the 22B with what was obviously a much slower car. The way you attacked the chicane was truly awesome. I think the colour is just about starting to return to my knuckles 24 hours later!
I think I've got the bug and will no doubt have to try it out as a driver rather than a passenger, although I think some instruction is required.
