Default OPINIONS PLEASE....is this a good deal?

Hi all, am interested in this impreza, i`ve owned 3 in the past and would like to get back into the fold!
Subaru impreza sti on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Jan-09 09:05:20 GMT)
i` ve had a texin session with the owner and agreed a price of £2200.
is it me or is this too cheap?
he says its a colin mcrae special edition, it looks like an r.a because it has a roof scoop, what do you think?
i really like the look of this car but its got stolen recovered on the history, should i be worried about this?
its had a rebuilt engine but has a missfire on tickover could this just be the m.a.f?
also had gearbox rebuilt so no worries there because it has a years warranty.
all comments are welcome!!!

Looks like lots of different bits chucked together on the car.

Get the chassis number and then go over to kathandkims.com or something similar (sure someone will point you in the right direction) then you'll be able to work out exactly what model it is.

I'd say you'd be able to easily get a good clean running model for £2200.

get the details off the vin plate on the right hand side strut top then google the info to find out what model it is,and txt the reg no to 83600 costs 3 quid and gives you info on the car.

ok got a tex back fom the owner...
the code he sent is gc8c4ed, done some homework and its a 95/96 wrx sti ra version 2.
looked at similar cars of this type and his car is p1 blue and not the blue its sposed to be. asked him if its had a respray and he said not to his nowledge!!
i asked if he had the v.i.c document and that was a no too.
because i asked these questions he texed me back and said hes going to have to withdraw the car from the auction because he is a serving police officer and he dont need the hastle!!!!
looks like a no brainer lol.

GC8C4ED is a 1996MY Impreza WRX STI. An STI Type-RA would have an applied model code ending 4DD.

To sum up:

The interior is knackered
The wheels are curbed
It has car park dents
It's stolen recovered and lacks the correct paperwork
It's not fuelling correctly
The clutch cylinder leaks
One of the tyres is probably illegal
The speedo doesn't work

He could have bought three 2nd hand classics for that amount!
