AFAIK the differences are 260ps engine, not 240ps version 1 and interior updated from red tiger stripes lol to grey suade, also wrx's got electric folding mirrors, not sure about ra's though due to weight

Its a C1-Series. 'V1' and 'V2' is misleading in the extreme and it really only applies to the STI models (named from the C2-Series MY96 cars).

Unless it is an altered production WRX STI Type-RA in white, then its a 1996 model car (and if it is then its a C1-Series car; a 1996 is a C2-Series).

I used to be an expert you know

This is why its better to use the correct model series description, rather than random V1; V2 etc...

Is it just STI's that were version 1,2 etc, its just with the different interiors, engine specs and interiors I thought it was all turbo'd imports, if not then what would you call wrx's mate?

Yes. Subaru named the first series production STI (introduced in Autumn 1995 for the 1996 model year) the Version 2. In reality it was a C2-Series car which would have made it the 3rd or 4th version, depending on how you view the C series, which spanned two production years. The Classic STI 'version' number doesnt relate to other WRX models.

1993MY = A-Series; 1994MY = B-Series; 1995MY = C-Series; 1996MY = C-Series (C2-Series); 1997MY = D-Series; 1998MY = E-Series; 1999MY = F-Series and 2000MY = G-Series.

You can find these production year identifiers in the applied model number on JDM cars, for example GC8D4DD (a 1997 WRX STI Type-RA).

So when it comes to plain old wrx's and non sti ra's then there is no difference between the 240ps model or the 260 ps model? In version or type as they liked to put it?
