hamyam 27 December 2008 08:27 PM

Whats your username?

Underworld 27 December 2008 08:29 PM

same old Underworld

G-string 27 December 2008 08:32 PM

AFAIK the differences are 260ps engine, not 240ps version 1 and interior updated from red tiger stripes lol to grey suade, also wrx's got electric folding mirrors, not sure about ra's though due to weight

Underworld 27 December 2008 08:38 PM

is that 6 speed by any chance??

G-string 27 December 2008 09:12 PM

Not standard mate 5 speed.

hamyam 27 December 2008 09:23 PM

Hi underworld have you driven a ra before?

Hes probably asked cos you will be grinning ear to ear when you do;)

s70rjw 27 December 2008 09:32 PM

Drive carefully........Enjoy too

hamyam 27 December 2008 09:34 PM

Just as you were a bit puzzled by the top speed . Not to good on motorways but great fun from point to point

GC8 27 December 2008 09:43 PM

Its a C1-Series. 'V1' and 'V2' is misleading in the extreme and it really only applies to the STI models (named from the C2-Series MY96 cars).

Simon

GC8 27 December 2008 09:43 PM

A 1995 car definately isnt a 'V2' btw...

hamyam 27 December 2008 09:58 PM

My sti ra is n reg 1995 and is a ver 2:thumb:

G-string 27 December 2008 10:04 PM

Unless it is an altered production WRX STI Type-RA in white, then its a 1996 model car (and if it is then its a C1-Series car; a 1996 is a C2-Series).

I used to be an expert you know ;)

GC8 27 December 2008 10:21 PM

This is why its better to use the correct model series description, rather than random V1; V2 etc...

hamyam 27 December 2008 10:22 PM

All i know its on a n plate was reg in late 1995 and is a STI RA and is a ver 2

GC8 27 December 2008 10:25 PM

1996 model year cars were built from the end of September 1995.

hamyam 27 December 2008 10:35 PM

So mine is a 1996 ver 2 which was put on the road in 1995 . Thanks for the info How many years was the ver 2 made for then as i thought the ver 3 started in 1996?

G-string 27 December 2008 10:37 PM

Is it just STI's that were version 1,2 etc, its just with the different interiors, engine specs and interiors I thought it was all turbo'd imports, if not then what would you call wrx's mate?

GC8 27 December 2008 10:57 PM

Yes. Subaru named the first series production STI (introduced in Autumn 1995 for the 1996 model year) the Version 2. In reality it was a C2-Series car which would have made it the 3rd or 4th version, depending on how you view the C series, which spanned two production years. The Classic STI 'version' number doesnt relate to other WRX models.

GC8 27 December 2008 11:00 PM

1993MY = A-Series; 1994MY = B-Series; 1995MY = C-Series; 1996MY = C-Series (C2-Series); 1997MY = D-Series; 1998MY = E-Series; 1999MY = F-Series and 2000MY = G-Series.

You can find these production year identifiers in the applied model number on JDM cars, for example GC8D4DD (a 1997 WRX STI Type-RA).

So when it comes to plain old wrx's and non sti ra's then there is no difference between the 240ps model or the 260 ps model? In version or type as they liked to put it?
