I just wondered if anyone else is having problems with Scoobysport?
On the 16th of Jan I ordered a set of locking wheel nuts and a set of the HID spot lamps, I was told the lamps where out of stock and would be about two weeks.
The nuts turned up on Saturday 26th Jan, but they were to long for my MY02 WRX (package was marked for an Isuzu) so I returned for a refund.
After numerous phone calls and numerous broken promises still no lamps despite last Monday being promised that they would be sent on Tuesday for delivery Wednesday. I phoned again today to be told that they are still waiting for some parts, I have now cancelled my order.
In the past I have had a couple of orders from Scoobysport with no problems, am I just unlucky with my last order, or is anyone else experiencing problems?
Cheers
Edward.

Just before this turns into a Scoobysport-worship* thread....I'd just like to say that I have had problems....with their mail order service initially and then with the way they attempted to resolve the problem.
In a nutshell, I didn't attempt to speak to Pete directly (he's a busy man and I didn't want to bother him with my small problem) but I was promised various things in response to my complaint by the "Pete Croney" e-mail address however, as these promises were never fulfilled, I suspect that it may have been one of his minions using it on his behalf who then couldn't be arsed to follow up.
I am honestly impressed with what the real Pete Croney has achieved, both for himself, and for our community via Scoobysport and the SIDC but Scoobysport is not always perfect.

However, I have spotted a new phenomenon emerging that Scoobynetters generally jump to defend Scoobysport in response to threads like this, which I can only put it down the esteem in which Mr.Croney is held.

I have a major problem with Pete and the "others" in Basildon
The wife is siting them all in my divorce papers
LOL
No seriousley forget all the of Mr Croney
They are a busy bunch down there victims of there own sucess perhaps, but my personal experiance is that ALL the crew down there are very helpful and respond better to a phone call than a Scoobynet post !

I have had the same problem as you. Ordered some halogen Cibies before Christmas that weren't delivered and I have now cancelled the order.
However, I don't blame Scoobysport. The reason I cancelled the order was that I needed them today at the latest to get them fitted for the purpose I require them. If I had longer to wait the order would still be in with Scoobysport.
You are right, Pete is a busy man but he went out of his way, as did his employees, to keep me fully informed of the progress of the order.
The reason behind the delays are two fold from what I can gather. The first being an employee, who, for a very important safety related reason is now an ex-employee and the second is the unreliability of Scoobysports suppliers. They are in the process of changing these suppliers.
Again, I had a disappointing outcome to my order, not due to service but due to timefactors and things out of anyones control.
This, however, will not stop me doing future business with Scoobysport.

Hope the ex-employee didn't drink beers with my money...

Edward,
Send a mail to Pete, and tell him you are really pissed off. That will probably help more than putting it online here.
Yeah, I can imagine that Scoobysport sometimes suffers from the "it's in the mail" syndrome, and they may have to look into that.
But neither slagging them or praising them will help in that respect.
One very positive thing though ... you can say this on Scoobynet and Simon won't lose 1 minute of sleep over it, because Pete would never play funny games re: liability etc...
Send him an angry mail, I'm sure you'll get it sorted ?

I ordered a spoiler for my my01 in september,
they said it would be 6-8 wks. I got a call
a week before xmas saying it had arrived, sent
payment details and expected it in 2 - 3 days,
it never arrived due to dammage in transit, which
is fair enough, they promised it would arrive as soon
as things kicked in new year.End of jan came stil
no spoiler so i decided to leave it and get on with
other plans. I will say they never took money though,
if they were so confident i would recive it the transaction
would have took place.

Totally agree Chris. I have had the odd issue with SS, but this is far outweighed in the help they provide and the quality of the kit.
You have to keep things in perspective. Much better service than the majority of retailers IMHO.

Edward (and others who we have let down)
I am really sorry. As others have guessed, we do get let down by our suppliers, all of whom are working flat out.
With lights, we ordered what seemed like the world's supply in September. We still haven't had them all and have many people waiting for them.
We are doing what we can and have received enough this week to get most of our back orders covered. It is an uphill struggle that we didn't think we would have this year. How wrong we were.
We are acutely aware that we aren't perfect but we do try and do things as our customers would expect them to be done. We have been disgruntled customers ourselves at one time or another, so know what's expected of a good retailer.
As has been said, if something isn't right, please bring it to my personal attention. Either by mail or by phone. Its only by hearing about the things that are wrong, that we can make improvements to our service.

For the record, I've had great service off them 98% of the time
The other 2% is generally things beyond their control, like Italy being on holiday in August useless carriers/couriers
Problems that I have had (delaminating pads, blown bulbs) have been dealt with quickly, efficiently and without trouble.
"On-site experience" could be speeded up (IMHO ) but you're able to browse scoobynet & talk scoobies, so that's not really a problem
