With the electronic MOT system now its possible to buy a replacement ( you could before but you had to visit the issuing garage and know when tested). Im not sure whether any MOT testing station can supply the duplicate, but your local VOSA testing station (ministry HGV testing) will certainly be able to provide one.

Arent both of the above posts missing the point? The OP ststaes that he has bought a vehicle without documents, so he wont have the MOT nor the V5 reference numbers required.

Would that be why I said you could do it if you have the V5 reference??? It only needs to be the new keepers supplement or some part of an old one to have the reference. Neither of us know what is or isn't available.
